My romantic days in the beginning were very rocky relationships were short for the most part. What it took me a long time to discover was I was too serious too soon in my romantic adventures. When I ran off to Greenwich Village New York City and became active in the music and the art scene that finally all changed. No, I still resembled a brooding artist too often but in an artistic world that was tolerated if not expected.
This song “Evermore” is really a fantasy; definitely a fantasy for me at least.
Summer; summertime when we were young; so many memories; mostly care free. First romances. Friends. Exciting times. For me The Jersey Shore, New York’s Greenwich Village were significant. Running away from home immersed in an artistic time I call my “Paris Experience”; love and lovers; great opportunities lost and gained. All this before realities: Army, danger in decadence, vulnerabilities . . .
Hidden contaminated land and unfortunate home buyers. You may be too young to remember the infamous “Love Canal” polluted land debacle (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Canal ) but it and similar stories inspired my song “Livin’ on a Landfill”. Here in New Jersey there are many stories of contaminated land some known some rumored. I do know some were identified as :Superfund Clean up Sites. (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Superfund_sites ). This song is about an undisclosed contaminated fictional housing development.
